PRIESTS is a D.C. based band that warps the sounds of punk, unhinged surf, and cold indie pop. We’ve been a fan of this band since the release of their incredible, burning spire of an album, Bodies and Control and Money and Power. Their most recent release, Nothing Feels Natural, departs into similar realms, but the band is an evolving machine, and has flared out another despairingly comforting gift in these trying times. I feel as if the scope of the band’s reach resonates with the emotions that echo within any of us who ponder, fear, and clench our teeth at the nauseating state of social and political affairs in this country, in this world, and in ourselves. We’re looking forward to finally booking this great band down here in the Rio Grande Valley this February. And it’s a deep trip to have them with D.C.’s experimental noise genius, Olivia Neutron-John,, as well as RGV indie heroes, SUPER, and Andrea.
Books could be written about each of these artists, but we’d rather let the sound waves do the moving.
