We are pleased to announce our first wave of artists performing at GALAX Z FAIR II – our second festival, taking place in downtown McAllen on Monday, March 11th 2013! As with the first GZF, this year’s mission is to provide an awesome, focused, and eclectic presentation of national, international, and regional musicians and artists to the South Texas market.

For our first round, we are pleased to announce:

MAC DEMARCO (Montreal, Canada / Captured Tracks)

This Canadian rocker has been on a songwriting frenzy, producing and releasing two amazing, solid records last year and apparently, gearing up for another in 2013. I’ve been a huge fan of his smooth, garage pop sound, and am ecstatic to announce his addition to GZFII! Check out his single, “My Kind of Woman” here:

MERCHANDISE (Tampa, FL / Katorga Works)

With instrumental comparisons to shoegaze greats like My Bloody Valentine and romantic vocals likened to Morrissey, Merchandise wrote and released one of the most critically acclaimed underground records of 2012 with Children of Desire. Hailing from Tampa, Fl, our heart strings are in full illumination knowing that these former punkers will be making their South Texas debut at GZF II in March! Check out their single, “Become What You Are”, here:

AUDACITY (Los Angeles, CA / Burger Records)

Blending garage pop, and a healthy punk sensibility, California punks, Audacity, released one of the most over-looked, and fucking best, records of 2012 with Mellow Cruisers. We are absolutely stoked to have these guys make their South Texas debut as they tear up GZF II! Listen to “Subway Girl” here:

Thank you for listening! Tickets will go on sale next week, and the next round of artists will be announced very, very soon!
